About Your Donations, Where & How They are used
At Fourth POV, Inc. we believe donors deserve to know exactly where their money goes. We are a lean, community-rooted organization — which means there is very little distance between your gift and its impact.
Every dollar contributed to Fourth POV goes directly to one of three areas: programming and facilitation, participant materials and resources, or organizational capacity that keeps our programs running consistently and responsibly.
We do not have layers of administrative overhead sitting between your investment and the young people we serve. When you donate to Fourth POV you are not funding a bureaucracy — you are funding a journal in a child's hands, a workshop that gives a teenager space to process something they have never had words for, or a business registration that turns a young writer into an entrepreneur.
We are committed to transparency. As a 501(c)(3) organization we file annual financial reports with the IRS and make our organizational information available to the public. If you ever have questions about how your gift was used, reach out to us directly at info@fourthpov.org — we will answer you.
Your trust makes this work possible. We do not take it lightly.
IS MY DONATION TAX-DEDUCTIBLE
Yes. Fourth POV, Inc. is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will receive an official donation receipt for your records immediately after your gift is processed
HOW IS MY DONATION USED?
One hundred percent of program funding goes directly to programming, materials, and the youth and families we serve. We are intentionally lean — your gift is not absorbed by layers of overhead. It goes to work immediately in Hartford's most underserved communities.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Additional giving options including PayPal, check, and bank transfer are available — contact us at info@fourthpov.org for details on alternative payment methods.
Can I set up a recurring monthly donation?
Yes and we encourage it. Monthly giving is the most powerful way to support Fourth POV because consistent funding allows us to plan, grow, and serve our community sustainably without interruption. You can cancel or adjust your monthly gift at any time.
Can I donate in honor or memory of someone?
Absolutely. Please include the name of the person you are honoring in the notes field when you donate. We will send a personalized acknowledgment on your behalf and ensure the tribute is recorded in our donor records.
Do you accept employer matching gifts?
Yes — and this is one of the most powerful ways to multiply your impact at no additional cost to you. Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double or triple the value of your donation. We encourage you to check with your HR department or employee benefits portal to find out if your company participates. Fourth POV will provide any documentation, verification letters, or organizational information needed to complete your employer's matching gift request. If you have questions about the process reach out to us at info@fourthpov.org and we will help you every step of the way.
How do I make a larger sponsorship gift or discuss a major donation?
For sponsorships or major gifts of $500 or more we encourage you to contact us directly at info@fourthpov.org before donating. We would love to have a conversation about how your investment can be structured for maximum impact — including recognition opportunities, impact reporting, and program naming rights for significant gifts.
What age group are the writing prompt journals designed for?
Our current writing prompt journals are designed for students in grades 4 through 6, approximately ages 8 to 11. Each journal contains six weeks of guided creative writing prompts that are age-appropriate, culturally responsive, and designed to build confidence and self-expression one page at a time. We are actively developing journals for additional age groups as we grow.
Does Fourth POV host community events in Hartford?
Yes — community engagement is central to who we are. Fourth POV hosts workshops, reading events, publishing celebrations, and community gatherings throughout the year in Hartford and surrounding areas. The best way to stay informed about upcoming events is to follow us on social media or sign up for our newsletter. We announce all events there first.
