FAQs
Frequently asked questions
What does Fourth Pov, Inc. actually do?
We design culturally empowering writing and publishing programs that help underserved youth build confidence, identity, and opportunity through storytelling. From journals to workshops to school partnerships, we use the power of story to inspire growth and healing.
Who do your programs primarily serve?
Our programs focus on children in the Greater Hartford are, mainly underserved youth in under-resourced neighborhoods. We work closely with schools, families, and community organizations to ensure that those often left out of traditional literacy support are prioritized and empowered.
How can I support your mission if I’m not a teacher or writer?
You don’t need to be a teacher or writer to make an impact. You can sponsor writing prompt journals, volunteer at events, amplify our message, or make a one-time or recurring donation. Every act of support moves our mission forward.
What happens when I sponsor a journal?
Your sponsored journal goes directly into the hands of an eger child. Each journal is designed to spark creativity while building literacy. Sponsors can choose to support one student or a whole classroom.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
We are currently awaiting our IRS determination letter for 501(c)(3) status. Once received, eligible donations made after our formation date will be retroactively tax-deductible. We’ll keep all supporters updated as this process finalizes.
How are your programs different from other literacy initiatives?
While many literacy programs focus solely on skill development or test preparation, Fourth Pov, Inc. starts with what ignites a child’s imagination. As a father of children who once disliked reading, our founder created these programs as a creative gateway — not a worksheet.
We design writing tools, journals, and workshops that blend literacy with curiosity, culture, and self-expression. Instead of forcing reading and writing, we invite children into it through storytelling they can relate to. It’s not just about improving test scores — it’s about helping kids discover the joy of language, the power of their voice, and the confidence to keep learning long after the page ends.
