Welcome to Fourth STE(A)M

Where Imagination Meets Innovation—and Every Story Sparks Discovery

Create with Curiosity

Participants engage in hands-on storytelling projects that bring science, math, and tech concepts to life through narrative and design.

Build a STEAM Identity

Youth explore who they are and how they belong in STEM spaces—seeing themselves as coders, engineers, scientists, and creators.

Merging Art & Engineering

From digital comics to scientific zines and speculative world-building, the arts are used as a lens to explore STEM fields in inclusive, culturally relevant ways.

Solve Real Problems Creatively

Participants learn to tackle challenges in their communities and beyond using critical thinking, collaboration, and imagination.

Fourth STE(A)M

Fourth STE(A)M breaks down barriers between creativity and science.
This program invites students to explore STEM through storytelling, design, and artistic experimentation—because innovation doesn’t start with code or equations. It starts with curiosity and a story worth telling.

"If they can imagine the future, they can help build it."

In each session, students imagine, build, and create across disciplines:

  • Write science fiction grounded in real science

  • Build speculative futures using design thinking

  • Translate math and data into visual narratives

  • Explore ethical questions in tech through creative dialogue

  • Express scientific discovery through art, poetry, or character-driven worlds

Fourth STE(A)M isn’t about memorizing formulas. It’s about lighting a spark.
Participants learn by doing—and dreaming. They leave with STEAM journals, collaborative inventions, and personal projects that blend imagination and intellect. Most importantly, they begin to see themselves not just as students, but as innovators, thinkers, and storytellers of tomorrow.

"Innovation starts when imagination is taken seriously."

The Fourth Pov Difference:
We use creative writing to help students shape their STEAM identities. Guided by culturally responsive instruction, each student explores where they belong in these fields—and why their voice matters in shaping the future.
